Our client, a leading consultancy in high-risk and highly regulated industries, is seeking a Principal Process Safety Consultant to join their team. This is an opportunity to lead safety projects across sectors such as Nuclear, Clean Energy and Oil and Gas.

Key Responsibilities

Leading safety projects in high-risk industries, ensuring successful project completion within budget and to client satisfaction.

Leading hazard study workshops, including HAZOP, HAZID, ALARP, LOPA, and FMEA.

Preparing and delivering COMAH Safety Reports and conducting formal safety assessments such as quantitative risk assessments and occupied building risk assessments.

Developing and overseeing the implementation of Process Safety Management Systems.

Leading consequence and risk modelling.

Managing functional safety/machinery safety project scopes.

Mentoring junior team members and providing technical guidance.

Managing consultant teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

Identifying and supporting business and service development opportunities.

Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Who We’re Looking For

Extensive experience in process safety techniques (HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, ALARP, CBA, OBRA, CFD, LOPA, COMAH safety).

Proven leadership skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong client service orientation.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Expertise in UK regulations and standards, with the ability to apply them effectively.

A degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Control/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Chartered Engineer status is preferred.

Due to the nature of the projects, this role may require security clearance.
