Electrical Engineer

We are assisting our client in their search for an Electrical Engineer to strengthen their team. This role is based in Antwerp and focuses on designing and implementing electrical installations in social buildings. The ideal candidate is a technical professional who enjoys collaborating with various departments and has a passion for electrical engineering and lighting.

Function

• Prepare cost estimates for electrical works for internal clients.
• Conduct site assessments (as-is condition verification).
• Design new electrical installations and modify existing installations in social buildings, including drafting execution plans.
• Order materials and request technical data sheets, as well as select devices and equipment.
• Create specifications and measurement states, and technically evaluate offers.
• Compile as-built documentation.
• Prepare for electrical inspections.
• Collaborate closely with the construction department and the execution and HVAC engineering teams.
• Conduct lighting studies is a plus; the ability to evaluate a lighting study is a must.
• Handover to the assembly service (execution).

Requirements

• You have a strong passion for technology and the latest developments in electrical and lighting technology.
• You are driven to develop technical solutions.
• You have a technical background through experience or education (professional bachelor's degree in electromechanics) and minimum knowledge and experience in electrical installation design.
• Knowledge of HVAC installations is a plus.
• You are communicative and computer literate.
• You are Dutch-speaking but can also communicate effectively in English (both spoken and written).
• You can work independently but are also a team player.
• You are a multitasker who can prioritize effectively and remain stress-resistant.
• You are well-organized and administratively accurate.
• You are proficient with the following IT tools:
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD/BricCAD.
  • Basic knowledge of Microstation V8i is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with Dialux 4.13 (evo).
  • Knowledge of Prodok NG (optional).
  • SAP ordering and reservations (optional).
  • PDF editing software (ADOBE, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Context Profile

• Strong knowledge and experience in electrical engineering (mainly in building environments).
• Good knowledge of AREI – detail and basic engineering.
• Ability to create and interpret limited lighting studies (mainly in office environments).
• Ability to interpret cable calculations.
• Experience with cabinet construction and engineering.
• Ability to handle revision jobs.
• Capable of developing and compiling design files independently.
• Material knowledge of electrical materials.
• Familiarity with assembly execution.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
